Noida Expressway To Get Relief With Proposed 32 Km Yamuna Expressway Bypass

Traffic congestion on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway is set to ease with the proposal for a new 32-kilometre expressway along the Yamuna River. This project is a collaborative effort between the Noida Authority, RITES, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), and the irrigation department.

Addressing Growing Traffic Needs

The new highway is designed to function as a bypass for the existing Noida Expressway. This strategic infrastructure development aims to address the anticipated surge in traffic due to Noida's growing business activity and the upcoming Noida International Airport.

Key Features of the Proposed Expressway

  • Length: 32 kilometres
  • Route: Yamuna Pushta Road, connecting Sector 94 near the Delhi border to Sector 150 near Greater Noida.
  • Connectivity: Link to the Yamuna Expressway for seamless travel.

Addressing Underutilised Infrastructure

While an 11-kilometre stretch of the Yamuna Pushta Road has existed since 2014, underutilisation due to infrastructural limitations prompted a feasibility study for a new route.

Collaboration for Project Success

A nine-member committee led by Noida Authority's Additional CEO Sanjay Khatri conducted a thorough assessment of the proposed expressway's viability. This committee included representatives from NHAI, the irrigation department, and RITES. Their focus was on alignment details, logistics, and feasibility. Read More
