BMRCL Runs Tests On Extended Green Line

BMRCL begins a trial run for Green Line

Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) has begun a trial run of rolling stock on Namma Metro’s Green Line, spanning from Nagasandra to Madavara (BIEC)

Officials aim to start commercial operations on the three km line along Tumakuru Road by Oct. The elevated corridor has been constructed by BMRCL under Metro Phase II. Recently, BMRCL announced a curtailment of services beyond Peenya to Nagasandra for certain hours to facilitate various tests on the extended line. BL Yeshwanth Chavan, chief PRO of BMRCL, said, “On Saturday, we conducted rolling stock tests on the line. Signalling and other tests will follow in the coming days.

The completion of pending works at Madavara station, which commenced late, is crucial for opening the line. Apart from Madavara, there are two more stations on the line at Chikkabidarakallu and Manjunath Nagar. In the past, BMRCL has missed several deadlines for opening this small stretch because of various factors.
