Pune Metro's New Underground Sections
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the Pune Metro’s new underground stretch from Civil Court to Swargate on September 27, 2024. This section of the metro spans 3.33 kilometres and includes three key stations: Kasba Peth, Mandai, and Swargate. The opening of this stretch is part of Pune’s ongoing efforts to improve its public transportation network and enhance connectivity within the city.
Swargate to Katraj Extension: New Developments
In addition to inaugurating the Civil Court to the Swargate metro line, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the Swargate to Katraj extension. This new route, an underground stretch of 5.46 kilometres, will add three stations to the metro network, improving accessibility to important areas like Market Yard, Bibwewadi, and Katraj.
