Stricter Land Purchase Law To Be Introduced In Uttrakhand

The Uttarakhand government is set to introduce stringent land purchase laws in the upcoming budget session to curb non-residents' acquisition of large-scale land in hilly areas. Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced this move on Friday, highlighting the commitment to protecting the state's unique identity.


Identifying Land Violations and Reclaiming Land

The government plans to identify non-residents who have violated existing land purchase norms, which allow only 250 square meters of land to be bought for personal use in non-municipal areas. Strict action will be taken against those who have acquired land illegally, and such land will be vested back to the state government.

Reviewing Existing Land Laws
