Bengaluru’s Airport Metro Blue Line To Open In Phases By 2026

Bengaluru’s much-awaited Blue Line metro, which will connect the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) to key city locations, is on track to open in two phases by 2026. The first segment, linking the KIA Terminal to Hebbal, is expected to begin operations between June and September 2026. The second phase, covering the stretch from Hebbal to K.R. Puram, is scheduled to open by December 2026.


Blue Line Construction Updates

According to the Managing Director of Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), the KIA-Hebbal segment is progressing faster than the remaining section from Hebbal to K.R. Pura.
