The highly anticipated Delhi stretch of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is set to open to the public on November 12, marking a major milestone in one of India’s most extensive infrastructure projects. South Delhi MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri confirmed that the six-lane highway, along with two newly constructed bridges over the Agra and Gurgaon canals, is ready for commissioning.
The elevated corridor runs through high-density areas along the Yamuna riverbank, including Yamuna Khadar, Okhla Vihar, and Batla House. A specially constructed downward ramp near Maharani Bagh connects the highway to the Ashram area, crossing over to the DND flyover. This seamless link aims to provide considerable relief in these frequently congested sections of the city, and according to Bidhuri, Rs 5,500 crore has been invested in this infrastructure upgrade to ensure efficiency and durability.
