Metro Phase 2 in Hyderabad to Begin Next Year
The Hyderabad Metro Phase 2 project is set to commence construction in January 2025 with a revised plan covering 76.4 kilometres across five corridors. Initially proposed to span 116.4 kilometres, the scaled-down plan excludes the 40-kilometre Fourth City Metro connectivity, citing technical and feasibility considerations. Officials aim to serve around eight lakh daily passengers upon the project's completion.
Prioritised Corridors for Phase 2
Hyderabad Airport Metro Limited (HAML) Managing Director, NVS Reddy, stated that five corridors were prioritized based on urban mobility demands and technical feasibility.
